Caitlin A. Sinatra graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Family and Human Services in June 2015. Though Sinatra's father privately used medical marijuana during his fight against kidney cancer, she was first introduced to marijuana as a recreational drug while home alone with friends at age 16. Because of this, her goal is to help adults initiate the conversation about marijuana in a safe environment to prevent children from discovering marijuana for the first time from fellow peers or the media. Similar to children knowing that alcohol is, "only for adults," Sinatra's intention is to help spread the word that marijuana is to only used by responsible adults in a safe environment.
This blog was created with the purpose to help adults connect and discuss different positive conversations pertaining to marijuana. With this open space, adults can swap tips and tricks with one another regarding their experience discussing marijuana with children and teens. The hope is that one day all children and teens will have an adult to feel comfortable enough talking about marijuana with. Caitlin A. Sinatra currently resides in Albany, Oregon with her high-school sweetheart gaining work experience in the mental health and drug and alcohol field before pursing graduate school for her Masters of Social Work. She fills her free time with aerobic dance classes, yoga, and hiking. Sinatra intends on creating additional children's books/parenting guidebooks on disabilities, death & grief, sex, bullying, mental health, divorce, and more. Have a question?
